The Journey Inward
True personal growth isn't about fixing what is broken; it's an integrative journey of self-discovery and evolution. My approach weaves together deep psychological exploration with structured frameworks for understanding human potential, looking at your life through multiple dimensions — mind, body, shadow, and spirit. Together, we will map out where you are, unravel the unconscious patterns holding you back, and unlock your natural capacity for growth and alignment.Whether you are navigating a major life transition, working through anxiety, or feeling a deeper call to understand yourself, I offer a collaborative, compassionate space for that work. We meet entirely online, so you can engage in deep, transformative inner work from the comfort and privacy of your own space.
Who This Is For
You might be drawn to this work if you recognize yourself in some of this:
You're navigating a significant life transition — a career change, a relationship shift, a move, a new chapter you haven't fully named yet.Anxiety or overthinking has become a familiar companion, and you're ready to understand its roots rather than just manage its symptoms. You've done therapy before, made real progress, and are looking for someone who can meet you at a deeper level of the work. You sense there's a pattern repeating in your life — in relationships, work, or how you relate to yourself — that you're ready to finally understand and shift. You're not in crisis, but you feel a quiet, persistent call to grow, evolve, and understand yourself more fully. You value a space that honors both the psychological and the spiritual dimensions of being human.
If any of this resonates, I'd love to talk.
About Hugo
I was born and raised in Mexico City, and both places I call home have shaped how I understand people and change. I earned my B.A. in Psychology from UCLA and my MSW from CSU Monterey Bay, and I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of California. Before transitioning to private practice in 2022, I spent years in community mental health — with Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health, Monterey County Behavioral Health, and in community-based organizations — walking alongside people through some of the hardest chapters of their lives. That work shaped how I show up now: steady, direct, and deeply respectful of what it takes to ask for help in the first place. My approach draws from several traditions — motivational interviewing, cognitive-behavioral therapy, existential thought, and an openness to the spiritual dimensions of a person's life — brought together based on what actually serves the person in front of me, not a single framework applied to everyone. I see clients in both English and Spanish.I especially enjoy working with self-aware people who are ready to move past survival mode and into deeper growth — the kind of work that isn't about crisis, but about becoming more fully yourself.
